About Aspects

"Aspects of Lindal and Marton" is a monthly newsletter, published and distributed by hand to all households in the Parish. Regular items include Parish Council Minutes, a diary of St Peter's Church and village social events, and Residents' Association articles. There are adverts for coffee mornings, pub quizzes, charity collections, exhibitions, and services offered by local small businesses. Occasional special features include Roy Mason's series of Heritage articles, messages from the Vicar, school items, poems, jokes, and historical facts.

Aspects is an invaluable part of Lindal and Marton village life. It owes its continued existence to a dedicated band of unpaid volunteers who compile and distribute it. Its production costs are covered by sponsorship from Lindal and Marton Parish Council and St Peter's Church PCC.

For this web page we have selected and reproduced a few articles from past issues of Aspects, representing the variety of topics covered in the newsletter. We hope that our selection presents a fair "warts and all" view of village life in previous years, and that it will perhaps stimulate thoughts and ideas for future newsletter and website articles, and community events.
