LAMPS Buildings & FacilitiesThe school is situated in Pit Lane, at the north end of Lindal village. The building dates mainly from the middle of the nineteenth century and consists of a large infant/junior room and indoor play area, a large junior classroom, library/resource area, assembly hall, office, cloakroom, and indoor toilet facilities. The school is surrounded by play areas, and has a separate playing field which is situated approximately 100 metres from the school. Various internal and external alterations and refurbishments have taken place in recent years to keep the facilities in line with modern requirements. All classrooms are well-equipped and freshly painted. A garden area has been developed to the rear of the school. The PTA provided funds for purchasing plants and equipment. School staff, pupils, parents and friends helped out with preparing the ground, cutting grass, planting shrubs, etc. A small extension was built at the front of the school during 2006. This incorporates an indoor play area for the younger children, and a large new cloakroom with disabled access. The PTA provided funds for the purchase of equipment. A major rebuilding of the school office and library took place in 2009, creating a larger library and IT teaching facility on a new mezzanine floor above the main hall. The outdoor equipment store was extended at the same time. The recent developments have made a real difference to the "look and feel" of the school.
